SeaWaves
Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts joins the month of protest organised by the Culture Assembly and invites you to listen to the sound of the sea, broadcast live from Neringa, Lithuania.
The project ‘Sea Waves’, initiated by the head of Nida Art Colony, curator and author Neringa Bumbliene, is realised together with sound artist and broadcaster dr. Vygintas Orlovas, head of the Department of Site-specific Art at Vilnius Academy of Arts.
Everyone is invited to listen and share the stream, whether in solidarity with the protest or simply in search of a moment of solace during this difficult time for Lithuania and the wider region.
The project title, ‘Sea Waves’, refers both to the sea, which has become a symbol of the protest, and to the waves of radio and resistance rippling across the country in an attempt to separate the populist political project ‘Nemuno Aušra’ from the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
